Many cities world wide have implemented Green Development Standards in order to reduce the impact of climate change. In Ontario, there are over a dozen cities that have Green Development standards in place and there are another 4 being developed. Most of the existing Green Development Standards apply to urban centres and have ignored the special circumstances faced by rural communities.
